Interview & Interrogation

This 16-hour course provides investigators and officers with a strong foundation in interviewing witnesses, victims, and suspects—emphasizing the recognition and application of trauma-informed techniques. Instruction includes lecture, practical exercises, and scenario-based learning, with assessment components to validate student understanding and skill development.  

This 8-hour introductory course teaches investigators the fundamentals of field interviews, detecting deception, and conducting formal investigative interviews. Designed for Fire Marshals, code-enforcement personnel, school and corporate investigators, and other non-sworn professionals, the class builds essential communication and assessment skills needed for effective casework. Instruction is lecture-based and concludes with a written evaluation to measure retention and understanding.

This 8-hour advanced course builds on the skills learned in the basic class, providing students with hands-on practice to strengthen their confidence and effectiveness in conducting interviews. Participants will engage in practical, scenario-based exercises designed to expand their comfort and capability in real-world situations. The course also covers best practices for documenting and recording interviews, with a focus on ensuring those records are accurate, thorough, and admissible in court.
